When we cultivate a garden we tend to it so that it will supply the food our family needs. When we cultivate with care, it will bring a harvest all throughout the season. We can take this harvest and preserve some of it and have food when the harvest season is gone.
Spiritually, we are the same way. When we stay rooted in the Word of God, He will cultivate our spirit and give us the “food” that we need to grow in our spirit. We become blessed with so much that we are able to be a blessing to others. We can take our preserves and share them with those who are in need of spiritual “food.”
Before we were born, we were chosen. God already knew what we would be good at growing. Just like certain regions can grow certain fruit better, we are the same. We can grow all the fruit, but there are some that we can grow in a surplus. Some people are just overflowing with the Joy of the Lord, while others are plentiful in compassion. It’s not that they don’t have one or the other.. its just means that because of their gifts they are able to grow a surplus of certain fruits.
God prepared our soil long before we know we would grow any fruit. He had a plan and through that plan we are able to harvest the all the goodness of His plan for our lives. But we have to choose to be the field that He plants.
Just like the soil has to be prepared, we have to allow our hearts and spirits to be tilled, pruned, and tended in order to grow the fruit that others need.
Friend….let your heart be prepared to be the Father’s Field so that the lost will find nutrition in your fruit.
