Hey there!
Let’s talk about the Journey
Friend, I get it… You are feeling a bit exhausted, and you really just want a soft place to land. It feels like life is moving too fast, and you are struggling to keep up. Trust me, you are not alone. You feel that you are trying so hard to do all things right — be a good Christian, a good mom, a good wife, a good friend — and still you find yourself feeling as though you are drowning. You may even be wondering if God could love someone who is as broken, bruised, and overwhelmed as you feel.
Are you finding yourself feeling as though you are one prayer away from giving up? One disappointment away from walking away completely? You feel like one more “be strong” comment is going to cause you to break out in an earth-shaking scream.
Before going any further, I want you to read the following words slowly and out loud. You are not failing. You are not too much of a mess. You are not alone in these struggles and feelings.
I have been there. I know the feeling of wondering if there is anything good about me.
I am here to share with you the great news! You will encounter a moment that will transform you — the moment that you are searching for — it is closer than you think. It is waiting for you on the backroads, in the stillness, in the place where you finally stop performing and start encountering.

How this journey began…
I was sitting in my driveway one day—couldn’t even make it inside the house—with music playing loud enough to drown out my thoughts. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, trying to figure out if this life, this version of me, was ever going to work.
And that’s when I heard it: “There is so much more to a relationship with Me than just surviving the pain.”
That pullover moment changed everything. It showed me that breakthrough doesn’t happen when we’re rushing—it happens when we’re brave enough to get still and let Jesus meet us in the overwhelm.
What you’ll find here…
Backroads & Breakthroughs is a community for women who are tired of just surviving. This is your permission to pull over, get still, and discover that Jesus meets you in your chaos—not just in your composed moments. You’ll find fellow travelers who understand, practical tools for breakthrough encounters, and a friend who’s been exactly where you are. Your brokenness isn’t too messy for God’s love, and the transformation you’re searching for is closer than you think.
About Me…
Hi, I’m Cyndi Kay—a Professional Encourager, author, and fellow traveler on this journey of faith. But more than any title, I’m someone who’s walked through childhood trauma, overwhelming life seasons, and those moments where you wonder if God could really love someone as messy as you feel.
I’ve learned that a breakthrough doesn’t happen in the spotlight of having it all together. It happens in the quiet pullover moments—on the backroads when we’re brave enough to get still and let Jesus meet us right where we are. That’s why I created Backroads & Breakthroughs: to help other overwhelmed women discover that their chaos isn’t too much for God’s love, and that transformation is waiting in the stillness they’ve been too afraid to stop for.
I’m not here as a guru or a guide who has it all figured out. I’m here as a friend who sat in her own driveway, overwhelmed and desperate, and discovered Jesus was waiting to meet me there. If He met me in my mess, He’ll meet you in yours.
